Announcing Sue Simonson

Personal Development Courses for Schools;
5th to 8th Grades

With state funding being cut, there are less sexuality education courses available for schools and communities.  However, the need for our children to get accurate, comprehensive and current sexuality information has not diminished.  In partnership with parents, it is critical that our children get the information and skills needed to make healthy sexual decisions when the peer pressure is the greatest, in adolescence.

Without Regret offers a series of personal development classes starting in the 5th grade and continuing progressively through the 8th grade.  Keeping parents in the number one position as sexuality educator of their own children, Sue Simonson augments parents’ efforts with classes available to your schools.  Empower your children and students with accurate information and skills, taught in an interactive manner, to make the choices that will lead them to their brightest future.

Testimonials

Testimonials from School Staff:Teaching anatomy

For several years, Sue Simonson has provided our community with exceptional health education. She gives our parents confidence to have the on-going conversations with their children that will foster open and honest communication. She instantly relieves the anxiety our students feel about this touchy topic. Her warm and engaging teaching style creates a safety zone and puts everyone at ease. Our children receive great information and tools to take care of themselves and each other during a scary, but exciting, part of their development. We highly recommend Sue!

Sue Simonson has been employed by St. Michaels’s Episcopal Day School in the position of Family Life Educator since September 2002.  The children look forward to her classes and appear comfortable asking difficult questions in front of their peers.  She has made a special effort to open up communication between students and their parents.  I believe Sue is a gifted teacher and I am grateful that our students are able to take advantage of her services.

Testimonials from Students:

It made me less scared about becoming a teenager.

I thought that this class was helpful because I really did not know about some of the things Mrs. Simonson taught us about my period.  I think it is important to know what is going on with your body.

I liked it best when the whole class got together and talked about respecting ourselves.

I like the homework the best because it gave me a reason to talk to my parents so it was less awkward/embarrassing.

I liked that we could ask questions.  Also, that I was able to laugh but still understand.

I liked learning that I’m not the only one dealing with puberty issues.  I always feel so alone with my own issues, but seeing other kids talk about their issues make me feel more comfortable.

I learned a lot of things about my own body that I didn’t even know I had.  I think that this is an appropriate program because kids need to know what is happening to their body so they don’t get scared.

I learned to be myself and know my boundaries in life and relationships.

I learned a lot, not just about myself, I also learned about others.  I learned to respect people and not to make fun just because they are different.
The thing I liked the most was being able to feel more comfortable about puberty and stuff and being able to talk freely.

I learned to respect the other sex and know that they are going through the same thing as we are.

I really liked learning about both the male and female bodies and how the baby lived inside.
